#21681 Matching the hatch - please enlighten me.

Brooklyn - yep I have that video. I also read somewhere very recently, maybe in one of the books I grabbed at our last chapter meeting, that a stomach analysis of a hatchery raised trout in a stream after stocking showed lots of undigestible no-edibles like twigs. That video, either vol.1 or vol. 2 mentioned the TWIG fly. Is that the missing link in my fly box? LOL! So, why can I not catch more that 1 in a 2 1/2 day fishing trip?

Also - is a trick to nymphing making my indicator float a little slower than the surface current because the nymph near the bottom is in slower water?

Tim Y - I almost ended my last entry as: "I know that the learning process will continue for as long as I am able to. Its much more fun and interesting than fishing with a worm under a bobber, which to me is about as interest and fun as golf." But then I didn't want to insult anyone. But since you mentioned golf.... not for me but i do know it takes practice and skill.
Anyway, someone said to me during the Olympics that they thought ice hockey is boring. WHAT???? Well whatever floats your boat, right?. Worm vs. flies? Hey, I don't mind filling up my PioPod (from Fishpond) with spinning line littered all over the place. Umm yes I do, but it keeps me in a TU state of mind.
